Barton Hill Academy is a large academy in East Central Bristol serving a diverse community and many of our children and families are multi-lingual. We became an Academy on 1st September 2014. The Dolphin School is a new and unique inner city school with an exciting future. Fairlawn Primary School opened in a majestically modernised Victorian Grammar School in September 2015 for Reception children as a new two form entry school meeting the needs of the local area and community. By 2021 the school will have classes in each year group from Reception through to Year 6. The school has already developed a strong community focus and is a place where parents, staff and others in the wider community have a voice in the way the children are educated. It is a school where we expect every child to achieve academic success and that their well-being is at the heart of everything we do. The curriculum is innovative and creative with a focus on drawing together science, technology, engineering, art/design and mathematics (STEAM). The Kingfisher School is one form entry Primary School. We use the Edison Curriculum to shape our core skills learning and Bristol and locality based modules to enable the children to learn in context and to be creative and exploratory in their learning. Our overarching aim is for our children to develop a love of learning and passion for all that life can offer. Merchants' Academy is an all-age mainstream school for students from Nursery through to Sixth Form which opened in 2008 as an 11-18 Academy and became an all-age school with the addition of the Nursery and Primary in September 2012.
