APPRENTICE TEACHING ASSISTANT

Fixed term, part-time (33.5 hours per week) term time only to start in September 2022

£4.81- £9.50 per hour (dependent on national apprenticeship guidance) plus Health Care Cash Plan and Benefits Package

18 month fixed term contract with the potential to be offered a permanent Teaching Assistant contract at the end of the fixed term period.

Venturers Trust is responsible for eight academies, 3,500 pupils and 700 staff with a commitment to making a significant and lifelong difference to the lives of young people from some of Bristol’s most disadvantaged communities.  

We are looking for a number of Apprentice Teaching Assistants to support both our Primary and Secondary Teams whilst obtaining a professional qualification. We are seeking dedicated individuals who will contribute to a wide range of teaching and learning activities and assist and support the work of qualified teachers.

Being part of an apprenticeship training programme means you will be paid for your normal working hours based in one of our Trust schools and the training that is part of your apprenticeship (usually one day per week).  Successful completion of the course will result in a level 3 Teaching assistant qualification. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Knowledge of/or willingness to learn how children develop

• GCSEs at Grade C or 4/5 or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications)

• Ability to communicate effectively and break down information to support learning

• Work as part of a team or independently with ability to recognise when to ask for support

• Energy, patience and a good sense of humour

• Be reliable, hardworking, flexible and committed
