Venturers Trust is a dynamic and focused multi-academy trust based in Bristol, formed in September 2017 through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust. We are seeking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join our friendly finance team. Our ideal candidate will have preferably some academy or school experience as well as knowledge of a school based finance system such as Civica/Corero.

 

Reporting to the Finance Systems & Process Co-ordinator and working with other finance team members, you will provide efficient and effective financial support required to meet the Trust core financial responsibilities. Tasks will involve processing purchase orders, invoices and goods received; preparing pay lists for authorisation to process payments via electronic banking, dealing with enquiries from Trust staff and external customers. 

 

The role will include data entry and administration, so we are looking for a candidate who has meticulous attention to detail as well as a sense of urgency.  Overall, this post requires a hardworking, highly professional and diligent team player, who is excited to learn and grow in this role.

 

The successful candidate will have: -

 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an accounts setting 

• Experience of purchase, sales and nominal ledgers 

• Ability to use IT at a level commensurate with the job, including Microsoft Word and Excel 

• High degree of accuracy and good numeracy and literacy skills

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

• Good planning and organisational skills 

• Capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure
