Requirement to travel between Trust schools.

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Finance Manager to work at our Trust Central Offices with a committed team of professionals.  

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 750 staff. The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.  Both sponsors seek to ensure that all our young people receive a truly inspiring education. You will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation, so we are seeking an outstanding Team member who can help us realise the highest possible quality of services to support our educational vision, to enable the organisation to achieve the best possible outcomes for students.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be more than comfortable with taking the accounts through to trial balance and be able to liaise with the company's external accountants to provide any further detail that they may need to complete the statutory accounts. Responsibilities will include but not are not limited to:
- Processing of financial transactions
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Provide accurate, robust financial information
- Monthly management accounts preparation eg fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, other reconciliations
- Liaising with external financial stakeholders, bank manager, accountants
- Help maintain and adhere to financial controls and policies.

This role would be best suited to a part qualified Finance Manager, and some CPD support may be available for the right candidate.
