PAYROLL AND PENSIONS OFFICER

Full time, permanent, 37 hours per week all year round, to start as soon as possible. Must be flexible to accommodate needs of the role which will include some early morning and late afternoon meetings.

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

We are seeking to recruit a Payroll and Pensions Officer to provide a high quality, comprehensive payroll and pension service ensuring that all staff are paid in accordance with their contractual conditions of service and in line with statutory regulations.

This specialised post requires a good working knowledge of statutory requirements – PAYE deductions, Statutory Child Related pay, Statutory Sickness Pay, Student Loans etc. The role requires a good communicator with a customer service approach to the role. The post holder should be technically knowledgeable and systems orientated and be a practised user of MS Office applications. Experience of working to strict deadlines in an office environment is essential and they will need to be well organised, with a keen eye for detail with strong numeracy and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 5 GCSE at grade ‘C’ or above to include English and Maths

• A willingness to keep abreast of UK legislation for SMP/SPP/SAP Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)

• Prior payroll experience dealing with all aspects of payroll

• An understanding of payroll systems and processes

• Experience of pension administration

• A good working knowledge of pay administrator for employee benefit schemes

• Excellent troubleshooting skills, backed by a clear, analytical approach to problem solving
